Style Wars: The Cuff Strikes Back

July 11, 2017

I've had a crazy past couple of months, but today I'm thrilled to share a new Style Wars collaboration with Jenmarie from Anakin and His Angel. The best part about my recent move to California was realizing that Jenmarie and I can now do Style Wars photoshoots together! In fact, this was the very first time we met in person. We've been friends on the internet for a while now and it was such a joy to finally meet face-to-face and talk about all things fashion! For our summer collaboration, we decided to style the Empire Strikes Back cuff from Love and Madness

The Empire Strikes Back cuff is such a cool jewelry piece to have in your collection because it really can be worn with any outfit for any occasion. I love how it features the entire beginning crawl in a script font rather than the usual Star Wars font. It gives the cuff a little more character and a feminine look! Jenmarie and I both had different yet similar takes on how to style the cuff. We both ended up wearing the same silhouettes, but very different color palettes! I absolutely love how she channeled Darth Vader for her outfit.

I decided to keep the Star Wars elements of my outfit more subtle, only using accessories to really show off my inner fangirl. I wore a blue and white striped tee with a simple mustard paper-bag skirt. My Darth Vader backpack and shoes showed off my dark side while my R2-D2 necklace reassured that I have a little light side in me too.

What I Wore:

Shirt: Madewell
Skirt: Thrifted
Backpack: Loungefly
Necklace: Love and Madness
Cuff Bracelet: Love and Madness
Earrings: Target (similar)

We had such a wonderful day together and it was an awesome surprise to see how we both styled the cuff bracelets. You can see Jenmarie's full post HERE. Style Wars will return in the fall! Stay tuned for more details. We can't wait to face-off with our Star Wars fashion again soon.

  1. I love that your skirt was thrifted! I love thrifting for my clothes and I have had a lot of success in buying clothes for cheap. I just think style shouldn't have to be expensive.
