Star Wars Style: Thrifting Strikes Back

This weekend my friend Katie flew out from Wisconsin to visit me and we spent a couple days in Portland. Our entire trip revolved around two things- eating and shopping! While I definitely bought a couple new pieces of clothing this weekend, most of my scores were actually from thrift shops. I recently discovered Buffalo Exchange and had the chance to check out both the Portland and Seattle locations this weekend. I have to say it's my new favorite secondhand fashion store ever! As I've talked about endlessly before, buying new clothes can be a waste sometimes and I'd much rather buy used pieces that are sustainable if I have the choice. Buffalo Exchange had a huge variety of high end and low end pieces as well as new and vintage styles. Today I styled one of my newest thrifted pieces that I scored at Buffalo Exchange- a blue and white striped midi skirt.

I love a good Star Wars T-shirt, but it's always challenging to think of new ways to wear them! This morning I found an adorable AT-AT shirt outside of my local farmers market at a store called Monster Art and Clothing. Yes, this was a new piece of clothing, but I was very excited to support a small business that sells clothing and artwork from local creators. Later in the day I went to Buffalo Exchange and found an adorable blue and white midi skirt (originally from Forever 21) for just $10. I instantly picked it up because it reminded me of Ahsoka Tano's headtails, but it was also nautical inspired and I love a fun nautical outfit. When I got home I realized that my new shirt and skirt could be perfectly paired together to bring a little flair to an otherwise every day look.

I tied up the tee to accentuate my waist, paired it with my favorite nude wedges, and finished off the look with my signature tassel earrings. This was such an easy outfit to put together and I think it's a fun twist on how you can wear a regular Star Wars T-shirt in a new way. If I swapped the wedges for flats or sandals, this would be a great outfit for running errands or having brunch with friends.

What I Wore:

Skirt- Forever 21 (thrifted)
Shoes- Target
Bag- Madewell
Jewelry- Target
Lipstick- Glossier

In addition to the striped skirt, I found a really nice dress and jumpsuit at Buffalo Exchange that I wanted to share with you all. The kelly green dress is from J Crew and I scored it for $15. The jumpsuit is from Modern Vintage and I bought it for $12. The best part is that both pieces have pockets! I was so happy to have pockets for stashing extra cash or a tube of lipstick on my travels this weekend. Who has time to dig around in their purse all day?!

I'm so pleased with my thrifting finds this week and can't wait to show you the rest of my haul when I style more outfits. What's your favorite place to buy secondhand clothing?
