I Swear I'm Alive

Oh hi! It's me. I'm still here and very much alive. Oftentimes I only update this blog when I have a new podcast episode to share or a really cool brand collaboration. When I started blogging in 2011, I used this space as a place (hey, that rhymed!) where I could get all of my thoughts and feelings out . I really want to get back to that in 2020. So what have I been doing lately? Well, let's see...

I've been kicking ass with my business this year which is why I've been away from the world of blogging for so long. Most of the time I'm working with all of my amazing clients through my business, Oudit Creative Solutions. Have I even talked about that here? I can't remember. This year has already been a great one work wise because I'm working a full 60 hours each week with the most incredible people that I absolutely love. This time last year was a very slow period for my business and I expected that to be a trend this year, but that's absolutely not the case and I couldn't be happier. The winter here in Seattle is absolute garbage and prevents me from doing anything fun outside, so I'm pretty content staying inside all day (in my sweatpants- heck yeah) working with cool brands.

Will I ever post fashion blogs again? The short answer is, YES, if the rain will ever stop! The long answer is that it's very difficult to shoot cute style photos outside when it's constantly dark and pouring rain, which also means the inside of my house is dark even if it's not pouring rain inside. I spend all of my days in lounge clothes or raincoats. Hopefully when spring arrives we will finally get a splash of sunshine and I can get back into styling fun outfits to share here on the blog. I did recently get a new lens for my camera, which means the style photos will be popping when it's finally bright and dry outside!

I'm starting a new podcast! Yeah, you heard it here first. I'm launching a new podcast on March 1st. I'm not ready to release the title publicly just yet, but I'm really excited for this new endeavor. The podcast will be focused on women in the workplace and will basically be a platform for me to share my success (and failure!) stories as a business owner. I will also be interviewing other working women who have stories to share about how they became a boss lady, self-starter, creative, or just simply how they found their career path. More details on this coming soooooon!

I went to Florida last month and it felt like the entire state just gave me a giant hug. I hadn't been back to my home state since November of 2017 and hadn't seen any of my friends from college since March of 2017, so it was really nice to spend a few days there with all of my loved ones. I squeezed in a few days with my parents and we had the best time together. Like I said earlier, the weather here in Seattle is trash 95% of the time, so getting to actually see a blue sky and the sun itself was really therapeutic.

I started bullet journaling. Until just a few months ago, I had never even heard of the phrase "bullet journal". Thanks to my friend Caitlin, I'm now one full month into bullet journaling and feel like it's taken a huge weight off my shoulders. Organizing all of my endless to-do lists, meeting notes, and personal goals has been awesome. I've been creating new goals/habits to stick to each month and it really has been working. I cut out sugar for the month of January and accomplished it only because I felt soooo much satisfaction from checking that box off in my bullet journal each night. If you've tried planners before and found that they never worked out for you, maybe give bullet journaling a shot!

The Clone Wars is coming back in less than 3 weeks. Okay, this is more of a "thing I'm excited about" bullet point rather than "what has Savanna been doing lately", but I am VERY excited for the return of The Clone Wars. For those of you who have been following me since day one when I had an entirely different blog, you know that I absolutely loved this show in my teen years and it's 100% the reason why I am where I am today. Sounds crazy, but it's true! My husband and I met because of this show, my first job out of college was a result of this show, and it's how I got immersed into the online world of social media and blogging. The show returns on Disney+ on February 21st!

I guess that's about it. My life seems extremely boring by the looks of this blog, but it's the truth of my day to day life. It's not all Coach collaborations and hiking! Haha. Hopefully I will do more brain dumps like this in the future. I do miss it. Until next time, may the Force be with you!
